First launched in 1987 as Fourth Floor Records with it's first release Bam Boo* - Bam Boo. Then went into hiatus in 1992, just after releasing Airtight - Housewerk.
In 1997 the label was rebranded as 4th Floor Records. It was one of the few US labels to support the London Garage scene of the late 1990s.
