- The deep-digging Amsterdam label will trawl through the Italian's archive for an upcoming double-LP.
Music From Memory has revealed some details of a forthcoming compilation showcasing the work of Roberto Musci.
The Amsterdam label says the double-LP, titled Tower Of Silence, will be its second-to-last release of 2016. Pencilled in to hit shops in late September, it features some of Musci's solo material as well as his lauded collaborative work with fellow Italian Giovanni Venosta. (The compilation's title refers to a track from Musci and Venosta's 1988 album, Urban And Tribal Portraits.) There will be both previously released music and unheard recordings on the 23-track collection.
Music From Memory says Musci "travelled extensively across Asia and Africa between 1974 and 1985 to study music." During this time he "made many field recordings and collected many instruments, which he would then combine with synthesizers and electronics back in Italy."
Listen to Musci and Venosta's "Nexus On The Beach."
