- The Raster-Noton man will release the second in his Xerrox series later this month.
Raster-Noton's Alva Noto is set to release the second in his ongoing Xerrox series of albums later this month.
Carsten Nicolai, the man behind the moniker, has always approached music from a theoretical mindset, and Xerrox Vol. 2 is no different. The record reportedly takes samples from the producer's recent US tour and according to Fact Magazine, aims for "a linear aesthetic that references the strategies of film music."
While we're still not sure exactly what that means, we can tell you that long-time collaborator Ryuichi Sakamoto appears on "Sora," which harks all the way back to their live performances together back in 2004, and that you can also expect to hear samples from a variety of artists including avant-garde film scorer Michael Nyman and Sunn O))) dronemeister Stephen O'Malley.
