- The Frankfurt producer will release his fourth full-length on his own Break New Soil label later this year.
Gregor Tresher is set to release his fourth album in September.
In the early years of his musical career, Tresher was responsible for two full-lengths of electro and downtempo material under his Sniper Mode guise, but since 2004 he has favoured a darker electro-infused tech-house style under his own name, releasing on labels such as Datapunk, Great Stuff and Ovum. The Life Wire will be the second album to showcase this side of his production talents, but Tresher has almost come full circle, bringing in vocals and more elements from his early work on the album. Explaining his recent shift back to a vocal-peppered style, Tresher explains that, "It's the songwriting that I am interested in the most. Of course dance music has to be focused on the dancefloor, but it's the hybrid between functionality and creating a special magic in the music that I am looking for."
There'll still be plenty of tracks on The Life Wire that cater to fans of his A Thousand Nights release, with cuts like "Awaking Life Inside" exploring his trademark trance-tinged melodicism, whilst "Nothing for Granted" sees Tresher try his hand at house music, albeit with his own recognizable style imprinted firmly on the track. The album will also be the first to be released on Great Stuff's Break New Soil sub-label, which was created specifically for Tresher to curate for them. Eager listeners can take a sneaky listen to the album over at the Great Stuff site.
