- Whether it's house, techno, trance or indie-rave you want, NYC has it all for you this New Year's Eve.
- New York may be dubbed the "city that never sleeps," but there's no night where this is more true than New Year's Eve. Of course, one of the main events is the dropping of the ball in Times Square, but if you don't fancy braving the throng of people, there are plenty of other options for you to see in 2010. Made Event are offering two very different ways to celebrate the end of the decade, with Paul Van Dyk set to take over the Roseland Ballroom with his big room trance stylings, while Tyrant's Lee Burridge will travel across the country from his new home in San Francisco to play an all-night set at Santos Party House. Pacha will be hosting a mammoth 24 hour bash with tribal and progressive house from Victor Calderone and driving techno from Paco Osuna. Revellers who are after a fix of rock-infused electro-house, meanwhile, should look no further than MSTRKRFT's performance at Webster Hall. But where New York truly excels this year is its smaller underground house and techno parties. Blk|Market's bash at a yet-to-be-disclosed location will most probably be the biggest of the three on offer, but certainly packs quite a punch for fans of a more European-centric style, boasting the debut NYC performance of DJ Koze. The eccentric producer will take to the decks for a special five hour set, with support being amply provided by Markus Fix, Ryan Crosson and Shaun Reeves. Adultnapper and Alex Smoke (the latter of which will be playing live) will both feature at The Bunker's Public Assembly party, but the more shrewd clubgoers will surely be interested in Mister Saturday Night's offering. Ticket prices are currently $35, and while that wouldn't even secure your entry price at most of the bigger events going on the same evening, Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter will be serving up free drinks for the entire night. Couple that with a headlining performance from FXHE boss Omar-S, and you've got a party that not only offers you value for money, but also a chance to catch one of the hottest names in the contemporary Detroit scene.
