Brazil, Equador and Mexico are all offering clubbing options over the New Year's period.
There may not be a wealth of clubs hosting top DJs south of the US border this New Year's, but there are still a few places you can celebrate the arrival of 2010 in style.
Mexico's top New Year's Eve party is happening about a hundred miles south of Cancún in Quintana Roo and will see M.A.N.D.Y., Matthew Dear, Audiofly and Davide Squillace all play sets at the coastal Coco Maya Beach Club venue. The bash will roll on through until 2pm on New Year's Day, but if you're still hankering for more electronic music after that, BPM's ten day festival will be kicking off back in Playa del Carmen. Sander Kleinenberg and Steve Angello will cater to revellers looking for progressive and electro-house, while Johnny D, Nick Curly, Steve Lawler, Guy Gerber and Dubfire will offer a mix of contemporary tech-house and techno.
Argentinian tech-house producer Franco Bianco will headline the bash at Equador's Electromundo club on New Year's Eve, but if it's bigger names you're hankering for, Brazil will be the best place for you to spend the start of 2010. Michael Mayer and Gui Boratto will team up for a Kompakt showcase at the much-lauded Warung Beach Club on New Year's Day, and January 2nd will see Trentemøller, Kasper Bjørke, Dennis Ferrer, Sultan and Audiojack perform at the Santa Catarina Music Festival which takes place at the biggest open air club in Brazil, GreenValley.
