- The spaced out pop duo will release their first full-length at the end of the month.
Experimental indie duo The Internal Tulips will release their debut album later this month on Planet Mu.
The curiously titled Mislead Into a Field by a Deformed Deer will be the duo's first release, though both members of the group have a history with Planet Mu: Brad Laner used to record under the name Electric Company, and Alex Graham used to go by Lexaunculpt. As The Internal Tulips, Graham and Laner play a unique brand of electronically enhanced indie-pop, most of which carries a breezy echo of the Beach Boys. Though the record certainly sports an off-kilter vibe, most of the tracks aren't nearly as strange as their titles ("1/2 Retarded Tuner of Hurricanes," "Invalid Terrace"), and the overall effect is consistently emotional and at times very somber.
