- The 15th edition of FutureEverything (known as Futuresonic until this year) will take place this May, bringing panels, exhibitions and a gaggle of music events to venues around Manchester. The festival describes itself as "a celebration of musical pioneers, raw talent and those who perform on the cutting-edge," a claim that the line-up easily supports. This year's musical events will feature experimental artists like Ryoki Ikeda and Mika Vainio, as well as DJ sets by Kiki, Kyle Hall, Roska and others. One event, presented in part by FACT, will feature dub figureheads Mark Ernestus and Paul St. Hilaire, plus King Midas Sound, Demdike Stare and acclaimed Syrian street performer Omar Souleyman. Other notable performers include Plaid, The Hacker and Congolese junk-yard collective Konono No.1.
