- The Barcelona-based imprint has released a new compilation and launched a new sub-label.
To mark its fifth anniversary, Barcelona-based imprint Galaktika Records has released a new compilation, simply entitled 5 Years of Galaktika.
Launched in 2005 by Venezuelan DJ and producer Maurice Aymard, Galaktika has put out records by tech house artists from all around Europe and South America. The new collection showcases mostly new additions to the label, such as Einmusik, Iron Curtis and Till von Sein. Composed almost entirely of exclusive tracks, Five Years of Galaktika will be available digitally and as a triple-LP.
Meanwhile, Aymard has also been busy with a new project: Apersonal Music, a label he founded with his friend Andres Vegas. While Galaktika emphasizes contemporary sounds, Apersonal is more focused on what Aymard calls "the eternal sound," or "music you can play or listen to ten years later." More specifically, this means classic house, disco and whatever else strikes the label's fancy. The first 12-inch, due out today, is a an EP called Baby You're Still the Same by Venezualan producer Trujillo whose title track cruises a long at a cool 110 BPM. Remixes come from Social Disco Club and UK disco-house master Mark E.
