- Black Box will release the dubstep duo's second album in April.
London dubstep duo Kryptic Minds will release their second album, Can't Sleep, through Black Box in April.
Simon Shreeve and Brett Bigden (aka Leon Switch) moved on from drum & bass to a more dubstep-oriented sound back in 2009, with prominent support from scene leader Loefah, who made their debut album the first release on his label, Swamp 81. Entitled One Of Us, that record blended halfstep beats with dubbed out atmospheres and field recordings. Their follow-up comes two years later on the emerging Black Box label, and is said to maintain the icy, minimalist feel of their debut, while also looking to a "future beyond dubstep" (a press release hints at Portishead, junglist and Detroit techno influences). The album will be preceded by a twelve-inch single for the title track on March 7, backed with a remix from London-via-Berlin producer Emika. Can't Sleep will be available as a triple-vinyl pack as well as digitally and on CD.
