- The ambient shoegaze artist has a new album as Motion Sickness of Time Travel.
Rachel Evans has finished her next album as Motion Sickness of Time Travel, entitled Luminaries & Synastry.
Since 2009, Evans has led a career that's as prolific as it is underground: she's put out more than a dozen releases so far, including a few full-lengths, almost all of which are available only on limited edition CD-R or cassette. Her profile ticked up a notch last year with Seeping Through The Veil Of The Unconscious, an LP that Digitalis owner Brad Rose called "the best demo I've ever received." That one quickly sold out and has since been reissued. Luminaries... follows in the same vein as that release, with a dreamy style that falls somewhere between shoegaze and ambient, led by Evans' distant vocals. It's currently available through Boomkat and Digitalis, and will see wide release next week. A limited first run will be pressed on colored vinyl, and will come with a CD version of the album featuring two extra tracks.
