The Crosstown Rebels boss heads a series of parties celebrating the Barcelona club's tenth anniversary.
Macarena Club is marking its tenth birthday with a series of parties this month.
The nights are a tribute to the downtown club's decade of house and techno parties. The site had been a flamenco haunt since the 1920s, but was revamped in 2001 as a forum for electronic music. Under the ownership of creator Gabi Sacomani, the extra-intimate club, which opens Monday through until Saturday, has attracted the likes of Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos and Matthias Tanzmann among many others, while regularly hosting local talent as well.
Get Physical kicked the birthday festivities off on September 1st with label co-founders M.A.N.D.Y. Next Thursday sees fellow Berlin label Poker Flat come to the party with Steve Bug heading the bill and support from resident DJ Herr. Damian Lazarus, the London-based head of Crosstown Rebels, brings the anniversary festivities to a close on September 29th. There is also a birthday bash hosted by Sacomani tonight and a TBA special guest on the evening of September 22nd.
