This year's arts and music festival at Southbank Centre also features Tyondai Braxton, John Cale and Brandt Brauer Frick.
This year's Ether Festival will take place at Southbank Centre in London from October 5th through the 12th.
Just as it has for the past 11 years, the two-week series of concerts will run the gamut from contemporary classical to avant-garde electronic performance, all taking place at various spaces in the 21-acre arts centre. Headliners include former Velvet Underground member John Cale, ex-Battles frontman Tyondai Braxton, who will perform Central Market with the London Sinfonietta, and the Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble. Australian dance company Chunky Move will deliver a piece called Mortal Engine, which features music from electronic noisemaker Ben Frost. The work of minimalist innovator John Cage will be performed numerous times throughout the series.
Resident Advisor is hosting a night in Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Purcell Room on the 13th featuring Mount Kimbie, ahead of their upcoming sophomore album, due out on Warp in early 2013. The night will mark their first live gig in the UK capital since April of 2011. More artists will be announced for that one over the next few weeks.
