- Alcatraz is due out through ARAS next month.
André Galluzzi's debut solo LP, Alcatraz, is scheduled for a mid-January release.
The Frankfurt-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer has been at it for some two decades now. He boasts some serious credentials: he was at the helm of Ostgut Ton's first Berghain mix CD all the way back in 2005, and he's appeared on other techno and house institutions like Cadenza and Cocoon. Until now, outside of his steady gigging, he's been known mostly for his studio collaborations. He put out records with Paul Brtschitsch through the mid-to-late-'90s and into the '00s (the duo released two LPs, 2002's Rundfahrt and 2004's Bordell, on their Taksi imprint, the former also coming by way of the Taksi alias) and more recently he's teamed with Dana Ruh. Together, Galluzzi and Ruh run ARAS, which will issue Alcatraz.
If the samples are any indication, the album, described as being inspired by "occult sounds and psychedelic vocals," will stay focused on the dance floor. Try out the title track below. Tracklist
