- The Berlin producer's Piteous Gate will land in late July.
M.E.S.H. will release his first album, Piteous Gate, on July 17th.
An associate of Berlin's genre-smashing, boundary-breaking Janus crew (alongside the likes of Lotic and DJ Hvad), American expat Jamie Whipple made a splash with his 2014 debut for PAN, which he followed up with Infra-Dusk / Infra-Dawn—records that referenced everything from IDM to hardstyle. Now he returns to PAN with Piteous Gate, his first foray into the full-length format.
Framing the LP as similarly open-minded, the label says that "tightly gridded and sculpted sound juts up against loose-wristed improvisation, automated processes, and collage" on Piteous Gate, adding "sound design and compositions are ornate, even courtly, with neo-feudal moods offset by the recurrence of hydraulic hiss and flanger." You can stream "Epithet" over at FADER.
