- The krautrock trio's next full-length is due this March.
Qluster will release the Echtzeit LP via Bureau B on March 4th.
The group will be familiar to anyone with a passing affinity for krautrock. Hans-Joachim Roedelius formed the original incarnation of the group, Kluster, in 1969, alongside Dieter Moebius and Conrad Schnitzler. After Schnitzler left the group, the band's name changed to Cluster and issued classic albums including Zuckerzeit and Sowiesoso. The name changed once again to Qluster after that duo disbanded in 2010. (Dieter Moebius passed away in 2015.)
Roedelius has recently turned his focus to longform, contemplative piano pieces, but the label says Echtzeit has the group returning "to their electronic equipment with renewed vigor," maintaining their constant pursuit of "musical structures arising from the moment." Qluster was originally formed with Onnen Bock and now includes Armin Metz.
Roedelius recently ran through his storied musical history for our RA Exchange podcast series.
