As of April 27th, the rapidly-expanding hospitality and events company now owns three music venues in the North London area.
The Columbo Group, which runs London venues XOYO, Phonox and The Nest, has added another live music space to its portfolio: The Barfly in Camden Town.
The Chalk Farm Road spot has long been a favourite with the capital's indie rock community, hosting early shows by the likes of Oasis, Blur and The Libertines. Acquired on April 27th, it's now the third North London venue owned by the rapidly-expanding events and hospitality company, joining fellow Camden Town spots The Blues Kitchen and recent addition, The Jazz Café. According to The Columbo Group, The Barfly "will continue to operate in its present form."
As for Jazz Café, this summer's programme continues to expand. In addition to previously announced dates for the likes of Dâm-Funk, Dave Harrington Group and Pantha Du Prince, there will be performances from Breakbot (June 10th), Moritz Von Oswald Trio featuring Tony Allen and Max Loderbauer (June 11th), Adrian Sherwood and Andrew Weatherall (June 17th), Jocelyn Brown (June 25th), Kelis (July 5th), Andy Stott (July 21st), Harvey Sutherland and Bermuda (August 12th), and US hip-hop luminaries Slum Village (August 26th, 27th).
