The outdoor venue is part of a larger complex called Avant Gardner, which includes two other spaces that will be open year-round.
The Brooklyn Mirage has announced a series of Cityfox events as part of the venue's opening season.
The team has been vying to reopen their revamped 6,000 capacity space since last summer, and two months ago the New York Liquor Authority gave them the green light. In February they revealed a $47.2 million plan to expand the venue, and now it includes not only the outdoor Brooklyn Mirage, but two indoor spaces—The Great Hall and The Kings Hall, which will open later this year.
They've outfitted the complex with KV2 Audio—whose other clients include high-profile Broadway shows—and turned the outdoor space into a "garden lounge." That includes over "two dozen palm trees and thousands of native plants that create 'living walls,'" the venue owners explain. There will also be several food stations. Events will include not only dance music, but all kinds of cultural programming.
The full summer lineup is still forthcoming, but for now they've announced five Cityfox events. The first party is July 1st with Tale Of Us DJing, and Stephan Bodzin and Recondite playing live. Then on the 23rd, Thugfucker and Adriatique are among those booked, and the August 5th gig includes Martin Buttrich, Mano Le Tough and Alex Niggeman. Atish, Job Jobse and Ruede Hagelstein (playing live) are on for Cityfox's first September event, and the second one has Ame and Frank & Tony DJing, plus live sets from Mathew Jonson and Stimming.
Tickets for these events are available here on RA.
