- Gypsophila is scheduled for April release.
Roman Poncet is putting out his debut album, Gypsophila, through Len Faki's Figure label.
The prolific French techno producer, real name Romain Reynaud, has actually had his hands in a few other full-lengths, but Gypsophila will be his first using the name Roman Poncet (which initially appeared back in 2013 with a 12-inch on Figure). We're told to expect a "dense soundscape," where "surprise and constant change lurk around every corner," from the 12-track, 70-minute album that's due out in late April on both triple-vinyl and digital formats.
Reynaud's prior LP projects include one from his other go-to alias, Traumer, for Stephan Bodzin's Herzblut in 2014, and another alongside frequent collaborator DJ Deep as Sergie Rezza on Desire Records the next year. He's also appeared on Tresor, Deeply Rooted, Desolat and Skryptöm, along with his own Gettraum label.
Gypsophila, the second proper album on Figure, will land nearly five years after its first, Markus Suckut's DNA.
