Harpoon Harry, Freda's and Cake Wines Cellar Door are among the venues hosting dozens of parties between May 25th and June 16th.
The full citywide music programme for Vivid Sydney is locked in.
While the Sydney Opera House is the visual and musical focal point of the annual winter festival with its Vivid LIVE offering, venues all around town curate their own events which fall under the Vivid X|Celerate banner. Harpoon Harry, Freda's and Cake Wines Cellar Door in particular will host extensive electronic programmes over the coming weeks.
Harry's begins its first weekend with a session from the Heavenly crew and an all-night set from Melbourne's CC:DISCO. Other highlights include takeovers by Motorik, Sydney Pony Club and Network Connection Records, guest appearances from Mood II Swing, Frank Booker, András and Noise In My Head, an all-nighter from DJ JNETT and a back-to-back closing set from Kali and Simon Caldwell.
Over at Freda's, the festivities commence with local label Ken Oath's second birthday, featuring Midnight Tenderness and Lauren Hansom. Vibe Positive and Dusty Fingers will also celebrate anniversaries, Ben Fester and Wax'o Paradiso will go in for open-to-close sets, Andy Garvey's Pure Space invites Daze, Escape Artist and Point Guard in, Len Leise & Salvador Ricardo play alongside Godtet and James i.V heads up a Flying Blind night.
Cake Wines' diverse offering launches with a Music For Bunch event that sees Suzanne Kraft and Jonny Nash playing a morning-to-afternoon Sunday session. Play On, a Melbourne concept which pairs classical and electronic performances, will have Ben Fester and Magda Bytnerowicz providing the latter on two consecutive nights. Jonti, with the help of local friends, will deliver an ode to the Beach Boys, while Al Dobson Jr closes out the schedule.
Elsewhere in the city, the Kings Cross Hotel will celebrate Vivid's tenth anniversary with a three-floor event. Kato will showcase his Doe Dee label with Simon Caldwell, Hubert Clarke Jr and The Ghan & Alba, Picnic host Andy Garvey, Lucy Cliche, Pjenné & Millú, and Bad Deep will program a floor that features Keep Sydney Open DJs Tyson and Ariane. Kllo play live at the Oxford Art Factory, and Purple Sneakers mark 12 years at The Lansdowne with Dro Carey, Love Deluxe, Rainbow Chan and a dozen more acts.
