- The seven-track, double-vinyl release is due out in July.
Legendary New York disco label Salsoul Records is collaborating with the Italy-based Sounds Familiar crew to release a double-vinyl set of remixes, remakes and edits in July.
Salsoul Sounds Familiar offers seven efforts from producers affiliated with Sounds Familiar, who take a variety of approaches to material pulled from the Salsoul archives. Kai Alcé, Specter, DJ Spinna, Mark Grusane and Twice & Volcov (appearing twice) are all featured, along with Ge-ology. The latter artist's track, "ReFingered With Love" featuring Sonya Distel, is actually a cover of the 1979 Candido tune "Thousand Finger Man," and it was given a limited release last year as part of Dekmantel and Patta's music and apparel collaboration. (It was only available with the purchase of a tracksuit.) Listen to that one below.
Tracklist
A1 The Salsoul Orchestra - Chicago Bus Stop (Ooh, I Love It) (DJ Spinna ReFreak)
A2 The Strangers - Stimulation (Twice & Volcov Edit)
B1 Ge-ology - ReFingered With Love feat. Sonya Distel
B2 Joe Bataan - Latin Lover (Specter Edit)
C1 Civil Attack - On The Phone (Mark Grusane Edit)
C2 Jaime Lynn - You Aint Got No Money (Twice & Volcov Edit)
