- She'll hold open sessions with residents of each borough, starting this Tuesday in Brooklyn.
Ariel Palitz, the senior executive director of New York City's office of nightlife (referred to as the "nightlife mayor") will hold a "five-borough listening tour" starting tomorrow.
At each hearing, the public is invited to share issues related to nightlife in each borough, which will inform the actions of Palitz's office. The idea is for locals to offer "feedback on topics such as quality of life, safety, regulations, enforcement and the role nightlife plays in fostering creativity and social cohesion," the office says in a press release. They're especially looking for bar owners, promoters and other industry professionals to join in the conversations.
It's the first initiative she's announced since creating a 14-person nightlife advisory board in July to consult the city council and the office of nightlife. She was appointed to the position in March.
The meetings will take place every two weeks through the end of November, on Tuesdays, starting tomorrow. Check out the full schedule and RSVP here to attend.
