- The James Stinson-produced set originally came out on Warp in 1995.
Clone Records has reissued Elecktroids' out-of-print Kilohertz 12-inch as part of its Drexciya-focused Aqualung Series.
The Kilohertz reissue recently surfaced at a Clone pop-up shop in Amsterdam and was put on the store's site today. Originally released on Warp Records in 1995, the EP introduced Elecktroids, a project whose membership has long been a mystery. A 2008 Warp reissue of the group's sole album noted the music was produced by late Drexciya cofounder James Stinson.
That album, Elektroworld, which will also be reissued soon according to Drexciya Research Lab, included the following note; "Background: based in Flint, Michigan, USA, the four young sons of an electrician, known simply as the Elecktroids, have welded together their debut album." The liners also indicated the quartet was primarily inspired by Kraftwerk.
In other news, Metaphysik has also announced a new record from Black Replica, one of Drexiciya member Gerald Donald's most elusive projects.
Clone Aqualung Series' Kilohertz reissue comes in both "store-only" and regular versions.
