- The Philadelphia duo have released five tracks that grew out of their hybridized live-DJ sets.
SCRAAATCH have self-released their first EP, Teardrops.
The duo of MHYSA and lawd knows are known for high-intensity performances that blur the lines between DJ set and live PA. Their first EP "expresses our sentiments surrounding black life, death, hypervisbility and refusal," they write on Bandcamp, "as we confront the reality that the club—like the rest of this world—can be a vulnerable space." The songs grew out of the last few years they spent experimenting with their hybridized live set, and a few of them were recorded straight to tape.
It follows their Labyrinth mixtape for Halcyon Veil, which RA profiled as January's label of the month. The label also released a solo album from MHYSA in 2017.
