- Hallways is out in June.
Bill Converse is releasing his next album through Dark Entries.
Hallways was recorded live-to-tape (with no overdubs) over the last two years at Converse's home studio in Austin. A press release describes the music as "built around crunchy synthesizers, harsh drum machines and jarring acid lines... [with] a darker tone than Bill's previous albums." It features 80 minutes of music across two LPs, and features guest vocals from Carlos Souffront.
"One idea for this album is 'through bardos,' the gap or moment of transition between two things according to Buddhism," Converse says. "Like an experience in meditation and attempting to find realization(s) on the way through the illusory and interdependent nature of good old fashioned reality."
Converse has released a handful of records on Dark Entries in the past, including an EP last year as part of the label's ninth anniversary celebrations. He also put out an EP via Fit Sound and an album through Tabernacle.
