- The Essence follows characters who struggle between crime and legitimate business.
The latest release from Peckham MC Giggs, AKA Hollowman, served as the foundation for the third instalment of The Essence, a series of short films about street life in London.
Now Or Never, released in November under Island Records, is Giggs' latest mixtape, and features other UK artists such as Jorja Smith and Dave. The track "Straight Murder (Giggs & David)" was chosen as one of Resident Advisor's best tracks of 2020. The entire album was the inspiration for The Essence Part Three, which came out this week.
The first two parts dropped last year and were also inspired by Giggs' previous records, specifically Wamp 2 Dem and Big Bad. The three films were directed by Myles Whittingham and written by Michael 'Buck' Maris and Ashley Chin.
