Ibiza will hold a 1,500-capacity clubbing event in the coming weeks, Tourinnews reports.
The Balearic government and the Ibiza Leisure Association have agreed to pilot an outdoor party at a TBC location, either at the end of June or the beginning of July. José Luis Benítez, Ibiza Leisure Association's manager, confirmed the news, adding that if successful, the event could precipitate a return to nightlife on the island.
"Nightlife will return to Ibiza," Benítez told Tourinnews. "We'll have it very soon, but it will be different."
Those who have been vaccinated, have had Covid-19 or who are able to present a negative PCR test taken in the last 72 hours will be allowed to attend the 50 percent capacity event.
The news follows a meeting between the local government and Balearic nightlife association, ABONE, last month where the reopening of clubs was discussed. It was the first meeting in over a year to be held by the two parties.
