- 11 tracks made between 2005 to 2011 were leaked online and have since been confirmed as authentic by Autechre's Sean Booth.
A slew of unreleased Autechre and Gescom tracks were leaked onto YouTube this week.
Sean Booth, one half of Autechre alongside Rob Brown, has verified the material and provided a tracklist in the post's comments section. The collection spans 11 tracks, six of which are credited to Gescom, an enigmatic collective dating back to the '90s with a membership roster that has included Russell Haswell, Autechre and Rob Hall, among others. Four other tunes are attributed to Autechre, along with a DJ mix by Booth.
These recordings are either unfinished or are snippets of larger pieces, Booth wrote, adding that only two tracks are his solo productions while some others were recorded in his studio but don't feature him. The 11 tracks, made between the years 2005 through 2011, were "one of two CDs I burned for playing a DJ set at Dave Hanal's birthday party in MCR [Manchester]," Booth wrote. "I left it in his laptop by mistake, oops." The collection has since been named Hanalgig.
Booth, who recently did an AMA ["Ask Me Anything"] interview on Twitch, also answered several production-related questions from fans commenting on the YouTube post. In one response, he disclosed that re-issues for two Autechre albums, Confield from 2001 and Draft 7.30 from 2003, are in the works.
Listen to the leaked tracks and read Booth's notes in the comments section.
