  • Dean Blunt is giving away his new EP, Give me a moment. A WeTransfer link containing the short, five-track release was published yesterday, January 29th, via the Instagram page of Blunt's World Music label. Clocking in at less than eight minutes, Give me a moment features a handful of samples from the indie world. Opener "Over Him" samples the guitar coda of "Pretty Girls Make Graves" by The Smiths, "NOLA Freestyle"–which was first released as a single on January 18th–samples "F.E.A.R." by Ian Brown and "Rinsed" samples "Evergreen Dazed" by Felt. This was the second post of this kind on World Music's Instagram in two days. On January 28th, the label shared a WeTransfer link to a folder titled KWAKE DUBS 2021. Featuring 23 different dub versions of Blunt's RA-recommended 2021 album Black Metal 2, the collection is presumed to be the work of album co-producer, Kwame Bass. Last Monday, January 23rd, Blunt also released a collaboration with R&B artist TYSON called "PRESSED." This flurry of music follows two singles in November: "death drive freestyle" and "1471," a collaboration with Tirzah. Earlier this month, World Music also put out "Posh Spice / Glamorous death is his destination," a double-single from label regular Yakub. Listen to Give me a moment and download the full EP.
