- ~scape will reissue the avant dub producer's benchmark trio of full-lengths in July.
Pole's landmark avant dub excursions 1, 2 and 3 will see a package re-release by ~scape in July.
It’s been almost exactly a decade since slippery hands helped make Stefan Betke’s career. Taking a malfunctioning Waldorf 4-Pole filter and applying its hissing, unpredictable outbursts to dub templates, Betke's 1, 2 and 3 won raves from audiences and critics alike.
For many years, though, those releases have been out-of-print. Betke himself—as owner of the ~scape label—will rectify that situation shortly with the re-release of the trio in one single package on the 10th anniversary of 1's original release. The material will be identical to the original releases, aside from the inclusion at the end of the third disc of four odds-and-sods put out while Betke was still pursuing the minimal dub muse. Extensive liner notes will be contributed by The Wire's Rob Young.
