- Marcel Dettmann showcases his melodic side.
- Marcel Dettmann's remix credentials read like a who's who of electronic music. There are reworks for stylistic associates like Delta Funktionen and celebrated veterans such as Ben Sims and Luke Slater, plus artists as diverse as Emika, Clark and Boy Harsher. The list is considerably longer than his own productions and testament to his versatility. Dream House Remixes (Part II) features Dettmann's first work on Innervisions, a label known for championing melodic sentimentality. On Part II, he's given centre stage with three remixes among the most eclectic roster of artists in the Dream House remix series.
Dettmann shows a range and dexterity matched by few of his peers. From looping organic guitar plucks ("Helliconia") to pitching down Matthew Herbert's playful vocals ("The Line") and reworking the intoxicating voice of Gudrun Gut—a cult figure of German post-punk complementary to his tastes—into a sparse, syncopated number ("Gerne"), he reveals a side far removed from his classic productions such as "Tattered" or "Duel". Âme and Innervisions have brought out Dettmann's most melodic inclinations to admirable effect.
