- A daring techno EP that reveals a thoughtful approach to production.
- On MAXIMA, her second EP, Anastasia Kristensen continues to reveal a thoughtful approach to production. The Copenhagen-based artist's productions are stranger than her DJ sets, odd enough to be distinctive and memorable, if not quite achieving a transcendent quality. There's plenty to hold your interest on MAXIMA, from the android-like vocal and futuristic bleeps of "AK OK" to the ethereal "The Flight," whose programmed bird shrills and shimmering synths recall Four Tet. The overall impression is of a DJ still finding her way as a producer, but one with an admirably adventurous method of working that's reaping interesting results. Kristensen's is a journey worth following.
