- The sound of fire, crickets and a wine glass.
- Ai Yamamoto’s new album, Pan De Sonic - Iso, is anything but mundane. The sounds used to make it, however, are exactly that. Without adding any extra instruments, Yamamoto translates everyday moments from isolation life—cutting fruit, purring cat, talking kids and so forth—into beautiful music. Some tracks are rhythmic, extracting every last drop of groove out of a beer can or tennis ball. Others, like the glistening "Evening Night Fall," are elegant and melodic. It's hard to believe all the sounds came from her garden.
