- In recent years, deeper DJ types have picked up on Baltimore's PJ Dorsey, AKA Tarotplane, working his epic neo-kosmische tracks into no-rules DJ sets. Dorsey has a simple mission. "I try to mix the elements I value and revere in older '70s head records and mix it with modern techniques and influences," he recently said. While the A-side of his forthcoming 12th Isle LP draws is indebted to Seefeel and blurry minimal techno, this 19-minute B-side suite is classic Tarotplane, traveling from murky loops to blissful, droning euphoria via Stratocaster, synths and a raft of effects.
