Sweepsculp - Plaudable

  • Upsammy goes acoustic, sort of, on this first taste of a promising new project.

  • The debut release from upsammy's new alias, Sweepsculp, was recorded using only acoustic guitar and drums. And while this release continues the Dutch producer’s journey away from the dance floor, "Plaudable" still approaches production with a DJ's sensibility. The song is built around a looped plucked-string melody, a few notes on the lower octaves mirroring a bassline, some staggered hand drums and the scrape of a fretboard. For such a simple track, it's impressive how funky it still is. If you added a bit more heft to the percussion and doubled the run time, you could imagine it as a vintage Perlon or Wagon Repair release.
