  • By modern dance music standards, Angus Finlayson's release schedule borders on the sporadic. The Berlin-based producer's last release—debut album Second Language—came out in April 2020, and his last EP three years before that. But what Finlayson (a former RA contributor) lacks in regularity of output, he makes up for in quality control. New single "Workahol" is a case in point. Combining pitched-up diva vocals with glitchy breaks and the kind of bassy electro you'd associate with labels like Databass or Direct Beat, it's a mishmash of disparate tropes stitched together with a deceptive attention to detail. The result is a giddy joyride landing just in time for festival season.
