- As one half of long-running party Mister Saturday Night (and cofounder of beloved club Nowadays), Eamon Harkin has been a staple of New York nightlife for over a decade, though he still finds time to put on his producer hat every once in a while. Over the years, his discography has leaned towards vintage techno and machine funk but this new offering for Singapore-based label Darker Than Wax reveals his love for downtempo music. Fuzzy synth lines whirr and buzz with underlying static, mimicking the sound of a machine cooling off after a hard day's work. Coming nearly two years since his last ambient exploration off his 2022 EP Truth Be Told, it's a refreshing glimpse into Harkin's palette outside of four-to-the-floor music.
